Manchester United Superstars Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba are both set to miss out of the derby clash against defending champions Manchester City this afternoon.
The two players were both doubtful to play at all at the Etihad on Sunday afternoon.
The midfielder’s injury is yet unknown but the Frenchman has been a major doubt since the match with Italian Serie A champions Juventus during the week.
The France international midfielder wasn’t seen at the squad hotel on Saturday night, sparking rumour he was set to miss out of the encounter.
And as per Miguel Delaney, an independent Journalist, both Lukaku and Pogba will not be included in Jose Mourinho’s starting XI this afternoon.
“Hearing no Paul Pogba or Romelu Lukaku in Man Utd’s starting lineup,” he tweeted this morning.
The Portuguese tactician discussed the player’s potential absence during the week, suggesting he wasn’t certain whether the Belgium international striker would be back in the team this weekend.
As for the Frenchman, reports on Sunday morning suggest the former Juventus player may be planning a return to Turin.
As per Italian outlet Tuttosport, the player has already told fans of Juventus that he wants to return to the club.
The news outlet suggests the FIFA World Cup winner approached the Curva Sud and had a hand shake with the ultras after the match this week in Turin.
Paul Pogba caught up with close associates and friends in Italy after the match, subsequently missing the squad’s aeroplane flight back to England.
