“Happy to stay” – Man United handed major blow in their pursuit of experience El Classico match winner

FC Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic has been linked with a move away from the Spanish side with the summer acquisition of Frenkie de Jong made formal.

The World cup finalist has expressed his intent to remain with his current club, but is highly flattered by the clubs connected with him in the speculation columns, which houses Premier League giant Manchester United.

The Croatian international midfielder is amused by the rumours surrounding his future on a long-term.

The creative midfielder has been a vital figure in the middle of the park for the Catalan club since signing for them from La Liga club Sevilla in 2014, where the midfielder also witnessed success on the continent.

FC Barcelona hero Xavi Hernandez as the most creative player in Barcelona’s midfield and talk of the player being offloaded would mean the midfield maestro is not well appreciated by some members of the squad.

As per reports, the Croatian was convinced to remain at the Catalan club by head coach Ernesto Valverde the summer before after an offer came in from French Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain.

The midfielder would be a massive signing and a great inclusion to the Red Devils midfield option, and recently, the Sun claimed that United would have to spend over £108million to bring him to the Premier League.

The report adds that Bayern Munich and Inter Milan are also interested in a move for Rakitic.

He will be a major upgrade to any of the midfielder’s United currently have in their ranks.
