Highly creative Manchester City midfielder David Silva is a doubt for Sunday Premier League game against Manchester United.
This is the word of City’s manager Pep Guardiola while speaking in a press briefing ahead of its team Champions League game against Shakhtar Donetsk.
The influential midfielder hasn’t traveled to Ukraine with his team for the final game of the knockout stage.
The Spain international scored the winning goal in City’s narrow 2-1 wins over West Ham on Sunday and his manager Guardiola has said he is unsure if he will be available for Manchester derby this weekend due to injury.
“Silva had problems in the last minute” Said Guardiola
“I don’t know if he will recover for Sunday”
The 31-year old star has played a pivotal role in City’s unbeaten start to the season, providing eight assists and two goals.
Report also has it that Eliaquim Mangala seems to have suffered an injury during last weekend victory over the Hammers.
Howeve, rGuardiola reportedly failed to bring out the France international during the course of the game as he had already made his three changes.
Should it be that the former Porto star is injured, he could miss the Citizen’s game against United also.
Manchester United on the other hand will be without Paul Pogba, who received a straight red card for the tackle on Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin during their 3-1 victory over the Gunners last weekend.
