We have seen many players at Manchester United during the clubs history, but there is one player who’s success and longevity at the club will unlikely to be ever matched again. That player is no other than Ryan Giggs.
It is now more than 23 years since Ryan Giggs made his league debut for Manchester United, a thin young winger coming on as a substitute in a 2-0 defeat against Everton at Old Trafford. Since then, Giggs has gone on to make 962 competitive appearances with his last, coming on as a substitute as interim player manager against Hull City. The last time we will see Ryan Giggs on the pitch as a player.
During that time at the club Giggs has scored 168 goals and has featured in the UEFA Champions League 151 times, more than any other player in the World. But what has he won? Well, it is fair to say that he has won the lot, including 13 league titles. To put that into perspective, that is 13 more league medals than Steven Gerrard has won, and more than Manchester City & Chelsea have had in their entire history.
The follow animated GIF, which was created by designer @BanditNanna, is an extension from the well received final front cover of the season to Manchester United fanzine ,United We Stand (UWS).
You can see how the animation goes through the evolution of Ryan Giggs, from 1991 to 2014. A fantastic GIF and one that will be enjoyed for years to come.
