According to Portuguese outlet Record, European giants Manchester United and FC Barcelona are allegedly in a two-way rivalry to complete the transfer of Benfica youngster Ronaldo Camara.
The 15-year-old wonderkid seems a highly promising youngster who could fast be snapped up by a top side as Portuguese football looks prepared to lose another key talent to a foreign club.
Including sharing a name with Ex-Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, the young midfielder could follow the steps of the Juventus Superstar, who left Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon for the Manchester side when he was just a youngster also.
Others like Anderson and Nani have made such moves abroad as teenagers, and Ronaldo Camara looks another great talent worth the gamble.
The Red Devils don’t really have a good recent record of trusting youngsters under manager Jose Mourinho, though the club have continued to believe in home-grown players such as Scott McTominay and forward Marcus Rashford on some occasion.
The Portuguese teenager would without doubt be one player for the future, but Red Devils supporters love seeing their side invest heavily in the long-term and this could be a huge boost for the club to beat another top club like FC Barcelona to this starlet’s signature.
Premier League giants Manchester City and Chelsea were connected with a switch for the silky player some months ago but Barca and Man United are now believed to be leading the race for his signature.
He made the headline at the ALKASS International Cup hosted in Qatar despite being way younger than most of the players participating. He has also played in the U-19 UEFA Youth League tournament.
